It's my birthday. And Jeff's favorite time of year to have people ask how old he is and then how old I am because for a very short 2 month period it sounds like I am 2 years older than he is. He thinks he's so funny and I'm sure I'll hear it every year for the rest of my life.
It was a treat to wake up and get serenaded by Shayla. Here's a little glimpse of the birthday song mixed in with some good times with Cole.
After Saryn got home from preschool we played one of their favorite games. Riding around the house in the laundry hamper. They're always excited to see this baby pulled out on Mondays while I do laundry. We like cheap entertainment round these parts.
Cute little girls that kept the day fun and eventful.
We had a family party-just the 6 of us-and I got to hear what each one loved about their dear old mom. It was mostly silly dances and Spencer told me that I smelled like his armpit. Nice. Glad we have a brother in this household.
I kept getting text messages from a friend that said, "You need to clean up all that trash in your yard" and then I got "Do you have any paper plates I could borrow?" then the next one, "Or plastic knives or forks?" By the third text buzz, I finally checked to see who it was. I went outside and found this!
Sunnie and company had left 35 plates for 35 years.
Here's a close up of a few.
Sunday night (the night before my big day) my friend Kathy just popped in to surprise me with this 3 layered birthday cake. Isn't it great? I think Jeff was the happiest since now he's off the hook to scrounge up something sweet for the evening. Thanks a ton Kathy! It was delicious!
Towards the end of the night as we were tackling bed time, Jeff put this blindfold on me and sat me on the couch. But then he didn't come back for several minutes--like 15 min. which can seem like a long time when you're just hanging out on the couch with a blindfold on. Was he going to pull something out of the closet? I think I even heard the jepardy songplaying in the background.
Then in walked a few friends trying to disguise their voices. I knew who "Yoda" was because we had volunteered at the school together recently to perform a puppet show for the kids and I recognized my fellow puppeteer's voice. (I really almost peed my pants from laughing so hard with Julie that day). Then I heard Ashley's laugh and then Sunnie's.
Still blindfolded they led me into a place that smelled like waffle cones. It's called Menchies.
It's so cute and the frozen yogurt is really yummy!! I really felt so loved because so many fun people came to help celebrate the night with me. I got this book from my good friends that made me cry! It has all our kids growing up through the years and other fun memories we've had together and it breaks my heart that these pictures won't keep continuing. You better keep in touch you guys!!! Or we may have to hunt you down! Or we'll just move back in a couple of years and buy a house close by. I think that sounds like a great plan!
Here's a picture of the group. I seriously have the greatest friends in the world!
Thanks for helping make the day so special!

Happy Birthday a little late!! Good friends indeed. You guys are so fun, I love it!!!
Oh Stacy I am so emotional these days! I'm not sure why this post made me cry. I think good friends are hard to come by and am glad yours spoiled you for the big day. Or maybe I'm sad because Clint will never in a million years do something sweet for my birthday? That might be why. :)
Loved the blue bell run pictures. Your kids are some speedy runners!
very cute! very fun!
Wow Stacy, you are a lucky girl! But, I know that all of your friends are just as lucky to have you. Happy belated Birthday!
