Have I ever mentioned that I love Monday holidays? There's just something about them that make those Sundays that much more enjoyable. I do love Sundays, don't get me wrong, but ahhh when there's not a super rush to get the weekly routine going again on a Sunday evening -- school clothes laid out, strict bed times, the thought of....well, Monday -- it's just nice to sit, relax and really enjoy a FULL Sunday PLUS the evening.
For starters, we were very excited to get Shayla's hair into a side ponytail. There's not much hair there and not a lot of length either to work with, so it didn't last long, but these two thought it was the greatest thing ever to have the same hair style (which only lasted for a few pictures and then fell out).
Sydney brought this cute little scripture home from church one day. A girl in her class had made them out of chocolate nuggets, address labels, ribbon and card stock. So cute!
Sydney practicing her talk for primary and Spencer helping out.
This also happened Sunday night when we were at my mom's house for dinner. Saryn came out of the bathroom complaining a little about her finger ("thinger"-- I love that she still calls it that. Both her and Spencer get that "th" in there instead of the "f"). I asked her to show it to me and this is what I saw.
It was growing puffier before our eyes. We thought about draining it, but Jeff ended up taking her in to the ER where they drained it and gave her an antibiotic. The dr. thought some bacteria had somehow gotten in there. Poor little gal. That was weird and a little gross.
On Monday (Memorial Day) we spent the day with family at the pool.
Lots of fun cousins to play with and yummy cold watermelon to eat.
The guys took the kids fishing at the lake right by the pool.
Braden was encouraging Spency to catch something.
Sean was the lucky one to show the kids what he caught.
Jeff and the kids.
Such a fun day! One of those days where you don't want them to end.
