Been Doing A Little Of THIS Lately...

Yay for snow!! (This is what I have to tell myself these days, at least), but when I see how happy the kids are playing in all this white stuff, I can't help but be happy too!!!
Our cute next door neighbors have kids, grown and gone, so they kindly passed these dish sleds on to us and let's just say they are getting plenty of good use!
We have just the right sized slope in our backyard to keep the kids busy and close by. This light snow flurry came on a Friday night, so Jeff was able to help take part in the fun on Saturday. I was content as could be taking pictures, giving a few happy waves and sipping on hot chocolate from the inside of our warm home.
 Happy Shay
 Spence on a mission
 Hair in the face, Ryn

 All smiles from Syd
I love how we have all these drive by cars included in our backyard shots. The beauty of living on a semi busy street we back onto. And I really love my husband!!!

ON TO BIGGER and BETTER SNOW and SLOPES

It has recently snowed a lot more and we've got a hill close by the kids have been begging to go to, so Jeff took them last weekend for the big adventure.

And Shayla has learned the art of sledding down on her belly (her suit is the best one for this!)

Sydney has recently taken the interest to snowboard : ). Too bad there are no mountains here, but she was happy to practice on the hills.
We got to make our very first snowman--EVER! Spencer was the one who headed this project up. With the help of snow ball rolling from Jeff and the cutest ever Snowman Kit we got from Kristie, Richard and fam., our snowman was very well accessorized!!! Cutest idea for a Christmas present for a new-to-the-snow family, if you ask me!!

It was Martin Luther King day so the kids were out of school and also SHAYLA'S 3rd birthday (more on that one later), so we had to get a shot of the birthday girl with our pal "Frosty".
Since Spencer was the one with the brilliant idea, he wanted a picture with him too.

Something tells me this will be the first of many "Frostys" we'll be shaping this winter!! How's your January?
